FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH

My first passion in life was ballet. However, my teacher informed me that I had what some may call "bad feet," and I would never fully excel at the most elite and highest level. This was hard to hear, but I understood it was not my true path and calling in life. After further consideration, I decided to turn my attention and focus on something quite different from this point on. Soon after, I accidentally entered a martial arts class, and everything came very naturally to me. After several months of dedicated practice, the girl with the wrong feet became an exceptional discipline student. She excelled beyond everyone's expectations, though she knew she had the ability within her all along. I became a part of the youth taekwondo team, representing my state on the national level fighting circuit, winning several medals, and obtaining many victories. At age 17, I started college, which was also the same time I was introduced to boxing. I did my first fitness certification with Fit combat, specializing in fitness through boxing. During the beginning stages, the organization wasn't interested in working with women. However, I was determined and strong-willed to the point that they had no choice but to accept me. My classes became a success, despite the belief that a girl couldn't succeed in giving such a demanding class, which was thought only men could teach. I demonstrated that women could teach and instruct the same rigorous regimen as anyone. I continued training and teaching classes and seminars for five years and then decided to learn more about personal training and strength & conditioning. I began to pursue and obtain different certifications and specializations in Venezuela, Caracas from this point on.

Without even realizing that my hobby was developing into a full-time position, naturally, I decided to make personal training my career. Seventeen years later, I started my training business, and at the same time, I had my first child. From this point on, my priorities changed. I didn't feel like going to the gym, but I still desired to exercise, continue training, develop and strengthen my body. So, I started creating small outdoor sporting challenges, and I began to change my way of training more creatively. The first significant challenge I set for myself was a 100 kilometers ultramarathon. Once I reached and achieved this goal, I was filled with feelings of tremendous pride with a third-place victory. Though the achievement was only mine, it made me immensely happy. My way of thinking and style of training changed for the next five years; I was now running trails and ultramarathons in various countries. When I had my second child, it was a great moment of pause in my life; I had to discontinue training and the competitive run tours until she could enter school, which was three years. Once this time-lapse had passed, it was time for me to try again.

Now, with my life relocated and continuing in a new foreign country, among all speaking in an entirely different language, I had to learn to study English and rethink my passion for training and helping others. After some deep thought and contemplation, I decided to create this page to connect with people and become a role model and example for healthy living. As independent mothers, we can find and create balance with exercise, our daily obligations, and careers within our lives! I believe that making a habit of staying active is necessary for life, just as much so as talking or brushing your teeth. Life is a movement. It is never too soon nor too late to start, and you have to take the first step. I find inspiration in the impossible to make it possible!
